Small Thought: It will

It may not make sense now. But one day when the dust has settled and silent words have been spoken, it will

Peaceful Moments

It's okay now. The tears have created something beautiful. My time for happiness has arrived the the blossoming of fresh flowers in April and May. Sad days have been washed away. And peaceful moments are here to stay. That's why it's okay.

Customer Service Gone Wrong

Today, I went to work and I encountered a couple of impatient and rude customers. I watched as my coworker was slandered and berated by a patron that ignored her need for human decency. She apologized profusely as ivory cheeks turned red as beets and dry eyes filled pink rims with salty water. I thought how could someone treat another so poorly for getting their order wrong? They turned the bright sunlight beaming through the window into a dismal, pale yellowish tint. That faded at the slightest coverage of cloudy skies.

Why isn’t an apology enough anymore? It’s as though “I’m sorry” has lost all meaning? It has been used as a kleenex to catch a partial sneeze but it fails to cure the symptoms and sickness of the common cold. It seems as though the door has closed on the concept of forgiveness and grace. But the concept of cold indignation has consumed many people in our contemporary society. Receiving an improper order does not justify harsh and cruel treatment toward the server. There is a time in life when cooler heads should and must prevail.

Everyone who treats others with kindness deserves an increment of understanding as opposed to all out conflict. No one's job description pays to be harassed by rude customers hell bent on getting even no matter the emotional toll it takes on the employees attempting to stay in the workforce. Oftentimes, the people that shop at the store have means so it's pretty common for them to talk down to the staff. But I find these actions to be appalling.

According to Proverbs 19: 21 There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand. 22 The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.

The way people treat each other is a testament to what lies in their heart. In this world, many people have placed titles and rank before kindness. Customer service has become nearly unbearable for many people attempting to serve the masses with a smile. But I urge everyone to be respectful towards those who assist you because God will bless you for it in the end. At the end of they day we should all try our best to treat people how we want to be treated. I have fallen short of this many times in the past but it’s up to all of us to make an effort to be the change we want to see.

Future Generations

Image by Olya Adamovich from Pixabay

People forgot about the young children

Looking up to them

Waiting for them to make a move

That would change their lives

Hoping that they take the right steps

And hold their money tight

While investing in business that take flight

Let the future generations come to mind

When you work

There's no use in providing a roof for comfort

If your assets have no worth

Put the children first

Why not save for college?

Don't avoid the rainy day fund

Some people will frivolously spend their money

While others will hold off

On having uncalculated fun

Consider tomorrow

Because time waits for no one

Value the moments that the world can't see

The work is done

While easy going people are sleeping

Key

You can feel the pressure but not succumb to the heat

Be hopeful and steadfast no matter what you see

Because the path is narrow

But that doesn't make it absent of debris

God can open doors no man can close

Because He has the key

Don't Give Up

The quitter mentality is becoming a hindrance in our society. For many people quitting at the first sign of trouble has become the norm. But we only discover the breath of adversity and the fortitude found in triumph when we push forward without ceasing. Every fruit producing plant once started as a seed in need of water and fertile ground. It is the job of the dreamer to base their aspirations in reality by working towards their goals. Keep standing, working and speaking things as though they were.

God has created a plan and a purpose for each and everyone of us. Whether or not we choose to pursue that path is our choice. On many occasions, since I graduated college I have found myself in need of guidance, direction and support. I am thankful to say that God has supplied all those needs. He is truly a friend indeed and for His mercy and support I am forever grateful. I have a corny yet insightful saying that has encouraged my spirit along the way:

Don't give up, don't give in. You were made to preserve. You were birthed to win. The Holy Spirit is your comforter and Jesus is your friend.

Many of us have faced rejection of some sort and these feelings are stirred up when we pursue our goals and the desired outcome isn't immediate gratification. The desire to quit when we fall down is continuous. But if we don't get up the struggle will continue endlessly. Because we live with the regret of what if. What if I tried?

To hold on is difficult but to let go satisfies the fear of failure. So it is important to remember that according to 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. With that being said, have faith and let go of any fear that may hinder you from achieving great things. Your blessing is right around the corner. But you must have faith in order to know it's there waiting on you to believe it. In times like these, God gives us the power of hope. Keep pushing forward.

No Longer Weary

We're just now seeing the ball of glowing fire

The red light is bright but nothing like fluorescence.

It stings the eyes, it lights up the world,

It electrifies the soul, it burns out of control.

The shinning rays touching cold skin gives the weary

A renewed reason to hope.

And that’s why we stand at the cusp of a new day.
