Song of Praise

Image by J F from Pixabay

We were close before

But distance came between us

Yes the feeling of love wouldn't leave us

And prayer lead us closer to a warm embrace

Before I knew you through a shallow lens

Know I recognize your face

You are the other half I never knew I needed

When others fail to understand

We are in agreement

Jesus is our base

And our foundation is strong

The second around with praise as our song

Love always, Ayesha

Something More

Check out my podcast Hope Speaks to hear the reading of this poem and more.

Oftentimes we judge the book by the cover. So we don't read it and never get to the precious information inside. Failing to read the forward. Ignoring the author's bio. Going past the parts that pertain to the index. Thinking what book of value can I reject next? The eyes bypass the context. Attempting to select the best thing but choosing according to the flesh. Scrolling through eBooks hoping to find deeper subtext but always coming up short. Look for easy reads in a library full of complicated stories. Running from grace while a closed heart secretly searches for the Lord. Why are we alive? What do we suffer long for? Questioning minds wonder... A lonely soul implores that we read for the pleasure of finding something MORE.

The World Turns...

Listen to Hope Speaks Episode 9 on Spotify

The world is every turning. Society moves and sways with the tides and rises with the waves. But it never thinks of the soul. The things that fall outside of it's influence. The pressure that makes young hearts grow old. But those who know don't speak and those that don't know are quick to respond. Making up policies that fail to help the community. Ignoring the necessities of those who are in pain. Calling the wise crazy and driving those who follow along insane. All the while, the world is steady turning on an axis fit to bend. Those who can't make it work break. While those who find a way are able to survive. Sometimes it takes knowledge to keep your faith alive. Knowing that the power doesn't come from the world. It comes from the Spirit within. Because the battle isn't won until the outcome is revealed at the end. So keep pressing on. Only the foolish relay on the strength of those who appear strong. That's why I'm never afraid to walk alone.

Seeing Tomorrow

I look for the bright side. I think we all do! We search for the road to understanding knowing that the words necessary may elude us at times. But we try and try and try again. Knowing that each failure brings us closer to winning. The world may see your mistakes and call you a loser. They see your upsets as amusing anecdotes in an otherwise boring life. Don't be deceived by their laughter. Don't be consumed or compromised by the misplaced judgment you face. Don't be swayed by the hurt and pain people place on your crowded shoulders. It is not your burden to carry. Keep pushing for the tomorrow that others fail to see. Love always, Esha <3
