Short poem: Come Home

Here's the key

I promise the door is always open

My mind is disappointed

But my heart is hoping

I nearly gave up on searching

Till I picked up the pieces that were broken

All the while I pray that you come home

Please like, comment, follow and share. It makes all the difference in the world to me.

Inspirational: Small Flame

Image by Andreas Lischka from Pixabay

It starts off small

A flame

That the cold, wind and rain

Can't extinguish

Then it grows

Questions follow:

Can I be redeemed?

Does Christ love me?

Is faith enough?

What is love?

It can be kindled by prayer

Maintained by hope

Nourished by the pages of a Bible

That are ever turning

You lose some battles and win some

But to believe

Your growth is tied up in learning

And yearning for the grace of God

No matter how hard you fall

He will pick you up

The Holy Ghost will comfort you

And Jesus will clean your wounds

You are not alone

You are not abandoned

And most importantly you are not forgotten

You are the sheep that the Shepard refused to leave behind

Every hair on your head counted

Every need you have supplied

You will have a friend in Jesus for the rest of your life

So when the world resents you

And casts you aside...

Just know that you are aided by the King of Kings

And you shall live and not die

It starts off small

A flame

That the cold, wind and rain

Can't extinguish

Then it grows

Missing

He’s missing again

NO calls

NO text

Only emptiness

Hangs in the void

He’s been MIA

Since he was a little boy

Days turned to nights

And nights turned to days

Weeks at a time combined into months

Months turned into years

Sometimes, I would look for him

In the highways and byways

Of cities to big for me to search alone

Leaving the comfort of my bed

To bring my long lost sibling back home

Even after all these years…

I’ll still look for you

Walking through mud, hiding behind staircases

Checking bus stops that never end,

Newspaper articles and old friends

And when looking is not enough…

I cling to the only safety I know

I’ll pray for your safe return

Holding a Bible with torn pages in shaking hands

Hoping for a miracle in no man’s land

Knowing in my fluttering heart that I’ll see you again

Alright

Checkout my podcast Hope Speaks to hear this poem

Cherish your loved ones while you can

Kiss their rosey checks

Hold their precious hand

Speak uplifting words in the hour tribulation

Pray with them

Let them know that you can sympathize

Show a warmth to express

That you understand

When the wind beats at their worn door

Stand beside them as a friend

The things that we forget we did

Mean something in the end

So cherish your loved ones while you can

Give them wild flowers

And provide them with hope

That a tired heart can comprehend

Because no one wants to be alone

When the hard days come

The good time Sally and John are cool

Until the lightening strikes

It’s those moments when you want a caring soul to check on you

And make sure you’re alright

Pray For Me

Image by michel kwan from Pixabay

Touch this heart of mine so my eyes can see a little better. Make the burdens that held down my wings light as feathers. And if I break down again hold me together. I feel the pulsating water that flows slowly underneath thick ice. Though I try I can't sleep at night. My heart cries out for healing that my spirit needs. I desire to be joyful. In the bedrock of my anguish, I desire to be free. Hold my hand as I grip onto the hope of living word. Let the Father's will be done. In the meantime, pray for me.

Call of the Shepherd

Image by Catherine Stockinger from Pixabay

Open hearts await for your call

Horns sounds at the mention of your name

Sadness fades at the acknowledgment of your greatness

Fears are buried with the troubles of yesterday

Old news has been placed on the back porch

Shrubbery can never replace the burning bush from which you spoke

Silent minds lay ready and eager for thoughts capable of filling them

Let the blazing sunshine of cool truth give answers to those who seek them

Sheep graze in the pasture waiting for a shepherd to lead them

Even when one has gone astray, He chases after it

And rejoices when the lamb is found
Ready and willing to provide nourishment and encouragement to the lost

So we await the voice of the loving redeemer

We pray for blessings curious eyes have yet to see

A brighter tomorrow gilded by the triumphant sound of victory

We will always hearken to the call of Jesus Christ

Leaving Enemies

Don’t focus on the snares of the enemy. It just means your someone worth fighting. For every battle that’s won there is an opposing side. They attack with lethal precision. Hoping you fall to the waste side. Going after your character. Attempting to eat away at your insides.

Turning reality into fallacy for the purpose of twisted fantasy to create a monster out of you. That’s what haters do. They aim low and watch you sail high. As your swimming with the white doves. Their trying to touch the baby blue sky. But in order to reach you they have to elevate their mind. Pray and fast in overtime in search of the way. The love that was ignored in the past can be found today.

But warmongers get left behind. They are the residue of sadness that blessed souls left to move forward in time. Dust off your sandals and move. Your presence shouldn’t be wasted arguing with fools. But your enemies are people who pretended to be your friends. The truth starts when the fictitious rainbow ends.

Poetry In the Storm: My Prayer

I read this poem to my Father on his death bed. He always loved hearing my poetry and I loved being his daughter. This is a poem for anyone who has lost someone very dear to their heart.

My Prayer

Y’all don’t understand,

I’m gonna pray till the mercy falls down from heaven

Like misty, silky rain

I looked the angel of death in its eye

Still, I call on the Lord o my soul

I see Your glory even now

Hear me in the depth

And the solitude of my despair

Let the words from my humble, cracked, tear covered lips

Touch your ear

Pull me in once again

Bring me near!

Hold me close

You created the moon

You gave formation to stars

You are higher than mountains,

Your son walked on water

Your holiness bestows love on the loveless

You see the heart of man and you touch it still

You anoint those who seek you diligently

I kneel before the throne

I beseech you for mercy

And blessings beyond understanding

Let a miracle be done

So I can carry the good news to all those I meet

Y’all don’t understand,

I’m gonna pray till the mercy falls down from heaven

Like misty, silky rain

Freedom Sings

I wanna hear the loud banging of a new day dawning

Let the tambourines shake

Let the bass drop

Let truth clash against lies like strong tides,

Hitting the desolate shore

We need the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob

We need freedom like a plant requiring soil

Like a lamp with a plug but no power source

We bang against the drum of hope

Praying that the friction of our hands

Strike fire in the heart of the oppressed

If the illusion of democracy is over... what's next?

Let the burgeoning dreams of tomorrow sing a new song

Love always, Esha <3
