Song of Praise

Image by J F from Pixabay

We were close before

But distance came between us

Yes the feeling of love wouldn't leave us

And prayer lead us closer to a warm embrace

Before I knew you through a shallow lens

Know I recognize your face

You are the other half I never knew I needed

When others fail to understand

We are in agreement

Jesus is our base

And our foundation is strong

The second around with praise as our song

Love always, Ayesha

Battlefield of Dreams

Ball up your fist and punch. You anticipated the arrival of this moment all your life. To fight for what you believe in. To stand on the battlefield of dreams. To shed sweat, blood and tears on the ground that will determine the outcome of future generations that have yet to set eyes on the world as we know it. So give it all you got. The struggle is spiritual but the aftermath is impossible to quantify.

Careers & Passion

In many ways, writing gave new meaning to my life. I know it sounds like a ridiculous notion. But I feel like God put a pen in my hand and a vision in my heart. In hopes of giving me something worth fighting for. We all have a talent or ability worth exploring. A desire to accomplish dreams that make us feel excited and joyful inside. So I would like to encourage each and everyone of you to do your thang… Don't be held back by the naysayers. Hold your head up high and face the obstacle of climbing an uncharted path.

Be the fearless individual that carves a conspicuous trail in the mountainside. This is your season, this is your time. If it’s not hurting anybody and it gives you a natural high. Why not give your goals a try? Have a little faith that wonderful things are possible and they can happen for you. Sometimes, we give up our passion to chase after jobs that don’t respect our needs and ignore the demands of our spirit. Often times they determine the hours worked, vacation time and skimp on the benefits package. Leaving us to fend for ourselves despite contributions to the company.

Years ago, I was at a youth seminar and the speaker insisted that we pursue the reason for our why. It's the driving force behind your inspiration? It encourages you to hold head up in the midst of adversity. We all need a motive to exist in this world. We need a reason to wake up in the morning and push forward. For me, it’s writing and my faith in God but for you it may be something entirely different. Since graduating from college, I have learned 3 critical things:

1. Life is too short to follow another person's plan for a happy life.

2. Hope is a cascading river that never ends.

3. There is no cap on passion, ambition and creativity. It flies free like sparrows hovering over the deep blue sea.

But with all that being said, following your dreams is never an easy task. There are days when the road gets rocky and I can’t see the way forward. So I rely on my faith to get me through. In times of desperation, I reflect on God’s promise. According to Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. And that is a constant comfort. Because I don’t always have the wherewithal to address the challenges I encounter in my career or personal life without breaking down. As a writer, I spend my time trying to cultivate an audience that enjoys my writing. But if I can help one person with my words, make them feel like their not alone in this world then it’s all worth it.

Thank you for reading. It means the world to me.

Corona Culture Rant: Rich Vs. Poor

Corona Culture Rant: Rich Vs. Poor

It's easy to tell people to stay inside if they don't feel well. It's simple to see the benefits when you don't live pay check to check. When you have the option, the privilege, the ability to work from home and receive paid sick leave that's wonderful! But what about the rest of us? The working class Americans.

We are the silent majority that makes the country go round but we are also those struggling to survive. Those who fall in-between the cracks of the American dream trying to dig out of the concrete and barely scraping by. Now we are being called on once again to pull ourselves up by our proverbial bootstraps with no shoes! What do we do? When our bellies growl but no stimulus check comes in?

Part of me is concerned over what the nature of the economy will be when this pandemic ends. When the demands for work are unable to fulfill our need because small businesses have taken a hit! When homelessness stands in the way of self preservation and the cost is paramount to our livelihood. What is the baseline of assistant that can be provided for the homeless, struggling, working poor and ailing among us?

In the midst of this pandemic, we look to our state and federal government for answers, for assistance, for calm but we receive silent in return. It is my solvent hope that our elected officials answer that call. But I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket. So I propose that we all look out for one another during this time. You never really know what people are going through be hide closed doors and now a large number of us are confined to staying in doors. And sometimes it feels unbearable.

There were so many things I took for-granted before Covid-19. Going to the movies, library, hitting a party, attending a conference, lecture, or just going to a theme park had no real value in my mind. I was just doing stuff but now I realize that I should have been more grateful for the little things. life is what we make of it. So even though I'm in the house, I am content. Because some people didn't wake up this morning. So I have to push forward in a world full of inequity and hardship. I have to make a way out of no way and help those I can along the way. Because no matter what we see and hear on social media we are all in this together.

Till next-time, Esha <3

The Power of Fear

The Power of Fear

Sometimes the fear of rejection stops us from trying. Sometimes the fear of success makes us apprehensive when attempting to believe in ourselves. But without rejection we would never feel the joy of achievement. So take the good with the bad. Knowing that acknowledgement is not the end all be all... It is just another step in the long hall towards progress. Never let the fear of failure stop you from trying. The only thing that beats natural talent is hard work and consistency. The more we push ourselves the less we succumb to the fear of the unknown.
