Lust for Money

Happiness doesn't start with money. Silver and gold doesn't satisfy the soul. Covered in gift wrap and tied with a little bow. Yet and still it fails to cover and heal the lack that people never show. Cash works for simple things like gas, rent and purchasing a wedding ring. But it can never buy love. It provides all the shiny objects we can think of... Let the light bounce off surfaces and twinkle in dim eyes. But it never penetrates the darkness inside. It's just the luster of money.

Future Generations

Image by Olya Adamovich from Pixabay

People forgot about the young children

Looking up to them

Waiting for them to make a move

That would change their lives

Hoping that they take the right steps

And hold their money tight

While investing in business that take flight

Let the future generations come to mind

When you work

There's no use in providing a roof for comfort

If your assets have no worth

Put the children first

Why not save for college?

Don't avoid the rainy day fund

Some people will frivolously spend their money

While others will hold off

On having uncalculated fun

Consider tomorrow

Because time waits for no one

Value the moments that the world can't see

The work is done

While easy going people are sleeping

Grocery Store Prices

Photo by Greta Hoffman from Pexels

The cart fills up with the splendor of groceries galore. But the cost has increased to ridiculous heights. Zucchini, cucumbers, carrots, mushrooms, potatoes, celery, peaches, apples, grapes, pears, lemons, cherries, luncheon meat, turkey, chicken, frozen pizza, onion dip, chips, guacamole, french bread all for the low price of $159. Take me back in time, let’s rewind to the days before the pandemic slump. Things weren’t perfect but living was affordable. And you could spend 10 dollars for lunch. Now 3 jobs aren’t enough. Keeping children in running schools are tough. Throwing quarters into a bottomless pit hoping the money swells. But even on your toughest days, remember all is well.
